Rinse, Repeat

I've spent the past few days doing work around my house - scraping paint, painting trim, weeding the gardens; rinse, repeat.

How many calories do you think THAT burns?

Proper post is coming, I promise - life is awesome right now, so much to share, just no time to do it justice!

Stress Eating

Apparently, massive amounts of stress in both my personal and professional life cause me NOT to eat.  How about that?  For the last two weeks, I've actually FORGOTTEN to eat on a few occasions...

I have a lot to update you on - all good things - but not a lot of time.  But for now I'll leave you with this:

I lost 1.8 at my WI today, for a grand total of 9.8 since rejoining WW a few months ago.  Feels good to be doing something about it -- again.

Happy Independence Day!

Everything about this weekend is absolutely perfect.

Minnesota FINALLY decided that it was time to be summer...

Manfriend and I, at the last minute, bought Twins tickets for yesterday.  We'd been keeping an eye on the weather forecast, and as soon as the prediction switched from rain, we jumped on it.  Friday night we had dinner with some friends, Saturday we shopped and ran errands all day before heading to a birthday bonfire for some friends... sunday we slept in and grabbed the train downtown to Target Field.

We soaked up every single second of that sun (me slathered with SPF 45, of course), and then retreated to my heavily air conditioned (read: meat locker) living room and dozed off watching movies and the news.  It was a fantastic, blissed-out, sun-soaked, smile-filled day... and the best part is that today we get to do it all over again.  Only instead of the Twins game, we'll be heading to his mother's for lunch and then to the pool to relax and swim.  The only thing that would make this weekend better is if we could commute between the city and the cabin in 30 minutes, so that we wouldn't have to miss a single second of both beautiful worlds.

Can somebody get on that, please?

It's a weird time in MN - weather aside, our gov't is a mess right now.  The government has gone into shutdown mode due to an unbalanced budget.  The timing couldn't be worse - at a time when we're supposed to be celebrating our government and our country, they're all fighting like children.  I feel sad for the people whose income is affected by this shut down, and sad for anybody whose holiday plans were adversely affected.  But mostly?  I hope that it ends SOON.  This is not the behavior of the MN that I have known and loved my whole life.

So -- yes, God bless America, land that I love.  And God please help MN figure our way out of this mess.

And now some pics of our wonderful day -- Target field, my love and me... enjoying this wonderful weekend.

(We got to walk on the field after the game - pretty cool, huh?)

(I get a little teary eyed by the patriotism, and yesterday was no exception)

Couldn't resist a picture of this guy -- wearing a shirt he made out of sewn-together Homer Hankies... superfan!

Packed seats!

Pure, unedited July sky in MN -- summer, thank you for finally gracing us with your presence!

Section 319 - not only my lucky / favorite number, but my favorite seats so far.  Great view of the city, the scoreboard, and an aerial view of the game (mandatory for me - since I'm not very tall, I need to be up high so I can tell what's going on!)

Minneapolis, I love you.

Manfriend, I love you.

Be safe and have fun y'all.
